IKIRUN AGUNBE HOME AND ABROAD UNVEILS AMBITIOUS DEVELOPMENT AGENDA FOR 2026.
A new chapter of community development is about to begin as Ikirun Agunbe Home and Abroad prepares to launch a series of impactful initiatives designed to unite Ikirun indigenes across the world and promote sustainable development in the ancient town.
Led by its President, Mr. Olajide Toheeb Opeyemi, the association is set to unveil its 2026 Global Membership Drive alongside the first phase of several community-focused projects aimed at empowering the people of Ikirun.
Operating under the inspiring motto, "Descendants of Warriors, Builders of Tomorrow," the association says its mission is to strengthen the bond among Ikirun sons and daughters while creating lasting opportunities for growth, education, and collaboration.
One of the major highlights of the upcoming announcement is the creation of what the association describes as the largest verified digital database of Ikirun indigenes worldwide. The initiative is expected to improve communication, encourage networking, and provide a stronger platform for collective community development.
Education is also taking center stage in the association's plans. Through a newly established Educational Scholarship Scheme, the organization will provide financial support to 10 brilliant but indigent Ikirun students studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria, helping to ease the burden of educational expenses and encourage academic excellence.
To expand its global reach, the association will appoint City Coordinators in strategic locations, including Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. These coordinators will serve as links between members in the diaspora and the home community, promoting greater participation in development initiatives.
In addition, the association plans to deepen collaboration with the Palace, community leaders, and other key stakeholders to drive projects that will deliver lasting benefits to Ikirun and its people.
Speaking on the vision behind the initiatives, President Mr. Olajide Toheeb Opeyemi reaffirmed the administration's commitment to purposeful leadership.
"This administration is committed to Unity, Visibility, and Value. Our people at home and abroad deserve an association that delivers tangible results. Within the next 60 days, we will begin to demonstrate measurable impact through strategic initiatives that will benefit our community," he said.
According to the leadership, full details of the projects, membership registration portal, scholarship guidelines, and fundraising framework will be unveiled during a forthcoming virtual press briefing and published across all official communication platforms of Ikirun Agunbe Home and Abroad.
The association has also called on all Ikirun indigenes, friends of the community, development partners, and members of the media to support the initiative as it seeks to build a stronger, more united, and more prosperous Ikirun.
