OSOGBO, Osun State — Governor Ademola Adeleke has said that his administration has recorded more achievements for the Muslim community in Osun State than any previous government, highlighting several projects and policies implemented during his tenure.

The governor made the remarks while addressing members of the Osun State Muslim Community during an engagement with the umbrella body of Muslims in the state.

According to Governor Adeleke, one of his administration's major achievements is the construction of a Hajj Camp, noting that Osun had remained the only South-West state without such a facility before he assumed office.

He also stated that his administration is constructing a mosque within the Government House, describing it as another significant milestone for the Muslim community.

The governor further listed the reconstitution of the Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, improved welfare for intending pilgrims, and the formal introduction of Islamic Marriage Certificates as part of his administration's achievements.

Governor Adeleke explained that the issuance of Islamic marriage certificates has now been institutionalized in the state and directed that the process be managed through the Osun State Muslim Community.

He also emphasized that Muslims occupy key positions within his administration, adding that his government has ensured fairness and inclusiveness in appointments.

While comparing his administration with previous governments, Adeleke challenged the opposition to campaign based on their own records in office, insisting that his achievements for the Muslim Ummah speak for themselves.

Speaking at the event, the Governor's Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Alhaji Muniru Raji, commended Adeleke for implementing projects and policies that, according to him, have positively impacted the Muslim community.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Osun State Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi, said the invitation formed part of the organization's engagement with governorship candidates to present their programmes and policies ahead of the forthcoming election.

He also appreciated the governor for his efforts and presented additional requests on behalf of the Muslim community.

Governor Adeleke attended the programme alongside members of the Imole Campaign Council and the Osun State Executive Council.
