The Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, Asiwaju Khamis Olatunde Badmus, has described the rescue of 44 students and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State as clear evidence of the Federal Government’s capacity to tackle kidnapping and banditry in Nigeria.

In a statement issued to journalists in Osogbo, Osun State, Asiwaju Badmus expressed relief over the safe return of the victims. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, security agencies, and the Oyo State Government for their coordinated efforts in securing the victims’ release.

The business leader urged authorities to provide adequate psychological and medical care for the survivors to help them recover from the trauma of their captivity.

He also called for special attention to the family of Mr. Oyedokun, the teacher killed by the bandits during the initial attack. Noting that Mr. Oyedokun was the family’s breadwinner, Asiwaju Badmus appealed for both emotional and material support to rehabilitate his wife and dependents.

He further urged leaders and residents across Yorubaland to work closely with government and security agencies to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Asiwaju Badmus concluded by calling on the Federal Government to intensify efforts to secure the release of all Nigerians still in captivity, ensure they receive proper treatment, and reunite them with their families.
