An emotional reunion took place as Mrs. Alamu, the Oyo school principal who was abducted, was finally freed along with other victims.
Mrs. Alamu, teachers, and pupils were released nearly two months after gunmen stormed Ahoro-Esiele community in Oriire LGA, Oyo State, on May 15.
Video footage from the rescue shows Mrs. Alamu, visibly distressed, asking about her husband and car moments after regaining freedom — a raw glimpse into the trauma of her captivity.
In the clip, military personnel are seen reassuring her that the situation was under control.
The victims were rescued after spending weeks in the kidnappers’ den.
The video has sparked widespread reactions across Nigeria, with citizens celebrating the victims’ safe return and extending prayers for their healing and recovery.
