Osogbo, Osun State — Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has been declared the winner of the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election, defeating his closest challenger, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Adeleke as the winner after the completion of the collation of results from the state's 30 Local Government Areas.

Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji polled 444,815 votes, giving the incumbent a winning margin of 66,252 votes.

The Accord Party candidate won in 19 of the 30 LGAs, while the APC candidate recorded victories in 11 LGAs.

The election was held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with voters across the state casting their ballots to choose the next governor of Osun State.

The outcome means Adeleke has secured another term in office following a closely contested election against Oyebamiji.

The election attracted significant attention across the state, with both leading candidates recording strong performances in different parts of Osun.

As the election process concludes, attention is expected to shift towards governance, reconciliation, and the delivery of programmes that will improve the lives of residents across the state.
