Part 3 | Beyond Assumptions: Let the Facts Speak.

In the 9th Assembly, Hon. Olalekan R. Afolabi sponsored HB. 1020, Federal University of Agriculture, Ikirun (Establishment) Bill, 2020.

It was a bold proposal. Sadly, the institution eventually emerged in Iragbiji, not Ikirun. But the dream did not die. Hon. Soji Adetunji has picked up the baton.

He has sponsored HB. 1159, Federal College of Agriculture, Ikirun (Establishment) Bill. It may be a college rather than a university, but it keeps the agricultural education agenda for ikirun alive.

This is where I see something important: continuity. A true representative should not only inherit the achievements of a predecessor. He should also be willing to inherit the unfinished business, challenges, and aspirations and continue the journey.

So, kudos to Hon. Olalekan R. Afolabi for starting the journey with HB. 1020. And credit to Hon. Soji Adetunji for keeping the aspiration alive through HB. 1159. Different bills, different Assemblies, same community aspiration.

Development is a relay race. One person starts; another continues; someone else may eventually finish.

For Ikirun, the question should not be _"who started it?" But should be "who is willing to continue it?"_ The records are there. I am only bringing them closer to our people.
